August at a Glance
- 1,900 unique visitors reached Topsail.Fish
- 749 visitors arrived through Google Search
- 36,000 appearances in Google Search results
- 2.1% Google search click rate
- 8.1 average Google search position

July brought more visitors to Topsail.Fish, more clicks from Google, and more people looking at local captain profiles and fishing reports. Those results give the website a strong starting point as summer fishing and vacation activity continues into August.
More People Visited Topsail.Fish
Topsail.Fish reached approximately 1,900 unique visitors during the latest 28-day reporting period. That was an increase of more than 50% over the previous period.
Visitors spent an average of 2 minutes and 41 seconds on the site. The average was slightly lower than the previous reporting period, but people still spent enough time to read fishing reports, compare local resources, and explore more than one part of the website.
The home page remained the most viewed page, with 519 pageviews during the Site Kit reporting period. Weekly fishing summaries also remained among the site’s leading content.
Google Sent More Visitors
Google showed Topsail.Fish in search results approximately 36,000 times during the latest reporting period. Those appearances produced 749 clicks to the website.
The Google click rate reached 2.1%, and the site’s average search position improved to 8.1. An average position near eight places Topsail.Fish on the first page for many searches included in the overall total.
The number of search appearances remained near the previous month’s level, but more people chose to click through to the website. That is the stronger result: Topsail.Fish is not only appearing in search results, but more searchers are choosing it as the place to find their information.
Fishing report searches continued to be an important source of traffic. People found the site while searching for Topsail fishing reports, Topsail Island fishing reports, surf fishing information, pier information, and other local fishing topics.
Useful Fishing Pages Continued to Lead
July’s most viewed posts show that visitors are using Topsail.Fish for both current reports and long-term fishing information.
- Jolly Roger Pier led the post-view rankings with 68 views
- Topsail Island Fishing Guides, Charters and Reports received 59 views
- How to Fish New River Inlet received 33 views
- Topsail Island Fishing Reports received 31 views
- The Topsail Island Fishing Calendar received 31 views
- The July 29 Weekly Fishing Summary received 26 views
- Seaview Fishing Pier received 23 views
- Mono vs. Braid Fishing received 20 views
The mix is important. Pier pages, fishing reports, seasonal planning information, local guides, and how-to articles all brought readers into the website. That gives Topsail.Fish more than one way to reach anglers throughout the year.
More Anglers Looked at Local Captains
Visitors viewed captain profiles 214 times during July, up from 158 profile views during June. Captain fishing reports were opened 112 times, compared with 82 times the previous month.
- 214 captain profile views
- 112 captain fishing report clicks
- 47 captain website clicks
- 3 captain Facebook clicks
- 47 visits sent to captain websites or contact options
- 50 total tracked captain actions
The clearest growth came from profile views and fishing reports. More people looked at the captains listed on Topsail.Fish, and more people opened reports showing what those captains were finding on the water.
Captain fishing reports continue to connect useful information with the person providing it. A current report shows the angler what is happening while also introducing the captain who is already fishing those waters.
Local Advertising Began Producing Measurable Clicks
The available advertising reports recorded more than 19,000 ad displays during July, along with 87 ad clicks.
The advertisements appeared alongside fishing reports, pier guides, seasonal information, captain listings, and other pages used by anglers. Thousands of displays kept local business names visible, while the recorded clicks show that some visitors also took the next step to learn more.
The advertising records changed during July as the tracking system was updated, so this month’s total is based on the available reports rather than one uninterrupted source. Future reports should provide a cleaner month-to-month comparison using the new local advertising report.
What July Tells Us
July’s strongest result was not one page or one statistic. It was the number of different ways visitors used the website.
Some arrived through Google while looking for a fishing report. Others read about a fishing pier, checked the seasonal calendar, opened a how-to guide, viewed a captain profile, or clicked on a local advertisement.
That is the direction Topsail.Fish is meant to follow: useful fishing information brings people to the site, and the rest of the website helps them find the captains, businesses, and local resources connected to their trip.
Looking Ahead Into August
August remains an active month for fishing and coastal travel, but it also begins the transition toward late-summer and early-fall fishing patterns.
Topsail.Fish will continue publishing weekly fishing summaries, captain fishing reports, pier information, seasonal guides, and practical articles that answer the questions anglers are searching for now.
The growing number of Google clicks and captain profile views gives us a clear path forward: keep publishing useful local information, make it easy to find, and connect readers with the people and businesses that can help them make the most of their time around Topsail Island.
What We Are Building
Topsail.Fish continues to grow one useful page at a time.
Every article gives someone another way to find the website. Every fishing report gives anglers something current to read. Every captain profile gives a visitor a local charter business to consider. Every advertisement gives a local business another opportunity to be seen.
Every article published, every fishing report submitted, every captain who participates, and every local business that advertises helps build a stronger fishing resource for the Greater Topsail Island community. We will continue measuring that progress and sharing it here each month.
